Kingston Poly
....we were supposed to support 'The
Sweet' at Kingston Poly but they cancelled at the last minute. They got
most of 'Bad Manners' together who turned up late; Buster Bloodvessel came
on stage, stood next to me and asked 'do you know any of our songs?'. We
ended up jamming 'Lip up Fatty'.... very surreal!

Sitting in the top bar, my friend Cruise and I were having a drink before the set. A bloke wanders past, and stares at me oddly. "Did you see that?" I ask. "Yeah he was staring at your t-shirt". I was wearing one of my The Trudy t-shirts. "Well, what's so freaky about it?". "Nothing. But that was the guitarist, Void". Oops. Some fan I am. Sorry Jim.
Later, during the set, we were movin'-and-a-groovin' on the dance floor. During the countdown of Countdown To Love, Melissa held up, and then frisbeed-out into the crowd, white paper plates with 10,9,8,etc written on them. We grabbed at a few of them (like you would, right?), and then Cruise dived off suddenly into the midst of the throng, reappearing a few minutes later with a clutch of plates and a grin. I think he got 9 of the 10. I, however, caught "Love", which, as an added bonus, was bubblegum pink. Each plate was inscribed on the back "This plate was personally hand-crafted by Melisssa J. Heathcote". Now that's an autograph!

"Victor! Victor! Give us a wave!" they said. He did.

ULU
A storming gig, but a few louts were slam-dancing & stage-diving and generally making life a bit hectic up at the front. Suddenly one stage diver launched himself right at a bunch of us. Unspoken, and as one, we all took a quick step to the side. The look on his face as he plummeted down through the gap to go splat on the floor was priceless. Meanwhile, on with the dancing.....

"They played the two latest singles and some old songs, finishing with a great new song, called 3 Minutes For You, that I can’t get out of my head. It was a really great gig and Melissa was particularly fantastic." - The Bronx
